Understanding Your Monthly Managed Charging Incentives on Baseline Tier

As an Eversource customer enrolled in the Managed Charging program, you can earn rewards simply by charging your vehicle at times that are better for the electric grid. Your rewards depend on which "Tier" you choose during enrollment.

1. What are the monthly incentives for the Baseline Tier?

The Baseline Tier is a "passive" participation level. You are responsible for managing your own charging schedule to avoid peak hours.

  • Standard Off-Peak Reward ($10/month): You earn $10 every month (up to $120 per year) if you complete at least 80% of your charging during off-peak hours.

    • Official Off-Peak Hours

      • Weekdays: Monday through Friday, 9:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
      • Weekends: You are free to charge at any time on Saturdays and Sundays.
      • Holidays: Public holidays are always considered off-peak.

When and how will I receive my payments?

Managed Charging participation incentives are typically calculated monthly but distributed twice per year (usually in the Spring and Fall).

The April-September Season gets paid in December

The October-March Season gets paid in June

Payments are issued via a check sent to your home address.

Pro Tip: If you want the "set it and forget it" experience with the highest reward, the Advanced Tier is the best option. If you prefer full manual control over every charging session, the Baseline Tier is likely a better fit.
